    Smoothies - Mmm!

I figure my large glass of smoothie is about 500 calories, which means it's almost a meal by itself. I have it AFTER my meal, though, about 3x a week.

The upside: It's composed 100% of fruit and natural yogurt, and 100% juice.

The downside: it is a lot of sugar.

The upside: It's all natural fruit sugar. Probably 50% of the smoothies are canned peaches and canned pears (canned by us, not the "Peaches In Syrup!" you get in the store).

The downside: We're almost out of peaches and pears, so I dunno what we're gonna use then!

We just use this to get the protein up.

My standard smoothie is about 1 cup plain yogurt, 1 cup milk, 1 medium banana, and some blueberrys. No idea how many calories, but its a couple servings of dairy and fruit, and blueberrys are freaking awesome.

Ours is about 2 cups yogurt (it's for 4 people), maybe 3-4 cups frozen fruit (often half blueberries), 2-3 cups of canned peaches and pears, and 2 bananas. We skip the milk, we like our smoothies THICK.
