    Ok, Its a bit late in the month, but Its time to start introducing challenges.

    Obviously its unfair to assume everybody is in the same place in thier training. As such, coming up with rules that even the playing feild will be difficult. Luckily I dont care about an even playing feild. Suck it up Princess.

    From now until they find a way to kill me (HA! good luck with that...), there will be a monthly challenge. Everybody will partake or earn my scorn.

    And now without further delay... This months challenge!!

    August 2009
    exercise: Squats
    parameters: by the end of the day on the 14th, record your maximum reps per single set, and post in this thread.
    On the last sunday of the month, record your maximum reps per single set and post in this thread.
    Divide your new max by your old for a % increase. Post this number in this thread.

    As an aside, I'm averaging 70 pushups a day (when I remember) and that's with making the incline another half-shoe-length deeper.

    Just a reminder to everybody who is yet to post a rep count (namely everybody on the forum, myself included). Friday is the cut-off for your before number, and obviously the earlier you get your number in by the more time you'll have to increase said number. As previously stated, post a number or earn my scorn. (not overly sure how that will work should i fail to post a number myself... but we'll cross that bridge should we get there).

    I figure when you hit the point where you need 2 seconds of rest between reps, your pretty much done.

    Legs are hard to do this kind of challenge with as theres so much slow-twitch muscle. it recovers quick.

    38 squats before I couldn't get back up without needing to brace for balance.

    just did a pre-lim testing of 55. thats up by a factor of 1.25x

    My current target is 70 by months end, for a total increase factor of 1.59x

    It only makes sense that one should be able to do more squats than pushups afterall.

    Leg hurt on the actual day, managed 54 on the Monday.
